I was invited to watch an actor and an author film a promotional video in 2011 and I took snapshots of them with a digital camera as they shot and reshot a scene. At home, I arranged some of my pictures into a narrative sequence that focused on their canine co-star and then arranged the images into layouts for a 6-page comic.
I used my computer screen as a lightbox and quickly traced my photographs. I then inked the drawings with a liberal amount of crosshatching before scanning them into the computer. Panel layouts were made in Adobe Illustrator. The layouts, line art and the original photos were combined in Photoshop.
On the Promenade was first self-published in the 2012 1st edition of Sketches and Streams.
